The Office of Fair Trading (OFT) is expected to publish its report shortly on the relationship between supermarkets and their suppliers, after allegations that the code of conduct between the two is often breached.

The competition watchdog will report on claims that payments have been too slow and that supply contracts have been altered after they had been signed. Allegations also include whether supermarkets demand lump sum payments from suppliers as a condition of putting goods on the shelves.

A report over the weekend suggested that the OFT findings broadly clears the supermarkets of bad practice, according to today’s Guardian.
