ABN Amro analyst Mark Wasilewski's widely publicised sell' recommendation on Tesco has perplexed many of his counterparts in the City. The only broker to issue a sell recommendation on the stock, Wasilewski expressed surprise at the retailer's falling depreciation rates and concerns about the speed of its growth in Eastern Europe and Asia. The downgrade prompted a 5p drop in the stock to 245p. Williams de Broe's Ian McDougall said he was "quite happy" to stick to buy'. "Looking at the depreciation of other multiples, there is nothing untoward about Tesco's." Another analyst said Tesco had accounted for the economic slowdown in Asia. {{NEWS }}
