Tesco has signed a deal with eDiets.com to increase its stake in the UK market for healthy eating, according to newspaper reports.

The supermarket chain signed a licensing deal with the US online diet service for £2m plus ongoing royalty fees.

Tesco is planning to develop the service to allow dieters to have products from their personal meal plans delivered directly to their homes once a week, at a cost of £12.99 a month.
