The Co-operative Group has chosen wine assistant Carole Nicholson to fill the new post of wine co-ordinator.
She will be responsible for overseeing communications between the wine buying team, suppliers and internal departments.
Her promotion follows the appointment of wine buyers Maria Gallup and Barney Davis (The Grocer, October 25, p20).
The team will source wines for 2,900 co-operative retailers across the UK. It will report to wine development manager Paul Bastard, who said: “Nicholson’s energy and communication skills will also be invaluable as we continue to build on sales.”
