This was a victory rooted in great customer service. What has been happening on that front lately? We have been refreshing our HOT service in the past few weeks, working really hard on delivering strong employee engagement. When customers give us praise about any of our colleagues we put it out on the tannoy and staff who go above and beyond in terms of delivering great service can win prizes each month.

Has your store had its fresh format makeover yet? Yes, the store became a fresh format about a year ago and the results have been fantastic. Our Market Street sales have been very strong since then and we had our best ever Christmas trading period last year. We’re looking forward to an even better one this year.

Are you excited about Morrisons’ new Christmas range? Yes, all Morrisons store managers are going to see the range for the first time next week actually and I can’t wait. I’m sure there will be lots of great new products that will help make this year a big success. This week, we got the full Halloween range in and so far our children’s costume sales have been fantastic.

Have you had your new ordering tablets yet? Not yet, no. We are expecting them in about six weeks. I’m really looking forward to getting my hands on them as it will be a fantastic opportunity to ramp up availability. It will make the whole ordering process much better as well as being a lot faster.

Morrisons this week relaunched its M Kitchen range - how are sales going so far? The new lines went into the store on Monday and it looks great. The new products are really good quality and we are already seeing a big uplift in ready meal sales. The other thing that is working really well at the moment is our Payday Bonus promotion which customers are really responding positively to.
