Winner – Philadelphia Plant Based Soft Cheese Alternative
Combining oats and almonds, this launch from Philadelphia did a great job of matching the taste and quality of its original dairy spread, said our judges. The texture was “creamy” with a “clean” taste that closely imitated the mouthfeel of dairy, and would make a “great option” for both vegans and those looking to reduce dairy in their diet.
Judges loved that the brand hadn’t strayed far from the original product, creating a true alternative that had all the same taste, texture and versatility. It’s a recipe that will no doubt inspire plenty of repeat purchases for the brand, they said. “As a vegan alternative, about as successful as you can get,” said one judge. “Great silky texture” with packaging that really “sings” and stays consistent with the broader brand positioning and holds great shelf appeal, said another. The product took Philadelphia two years to perfect, according to the brand, but it was time well spent.
