Exclusive Mary Carmichael Mars is bringing out a limited edition nougat-less Snickers bar at the beginning of October  the first change in ingredients in the brand's 33 year history. The new bar  Who Nicked the Nougat?  consists of a layer of peanuts and caramel covered in milk chocolate. Its wrapper carries the Snickers flag, plus a newspaper style headline: Nugget Napper on the Run. Tuck into the nutty details inside.' The messages on the inside of the wrapper echo the theme: Somebody's nicked the nougat!.. Can you spot the difference?" There is no specific marketing support for the limited edition but Mars has put £4m behind the brand as a whole this year so far. Trade relations manager Sam McElligott said the visiting variant would make a big impact on the chocolate countline fixture. "Retailers should multi-site the product in key impulse areas," she added. The Snickers brand is the sixth biggest by value in the confectionery category [TN Sofres]. Previous range extensions include kingsize, multipacks, fun size, snack size, Celebrations size, Easter eggs, ice cream and the 125g Hunger Buster, which appeared for 12 weeks in 1996. {{P&P }}
