Vaping brand Juul has secured a new major listing with Boots, The Grocer can reveal.
The US brand, which launched in the UK in July, is currently stocked in Sainsbury’s, Selfridges and specialist vape stores as well as online.
The listing with Boots went live on 18 February in 270 stores. Customers must be over 18 and the products will be sold over the pharmacy counter.
“We’re passionate about helping our customers to get better, live better and look great,” said a Boots spokeswoman.
“We’ve been closely following public health guidance on the role e-cigarettes can play as a potentially safer alternative to smoking alongside nicotine replacement products.
“We already have an extensive range of products, support and services to provide customers who are on their journey to stopping smoking with a range of different options and we have added the Juul e-cigarette range as a smoking alternative in selected Boots stores. These will be available from the pharmacy counter to those aged 18 and over. Our pharmacy team are always on hand to advise customers and offer support in making a choice that is right for them.”
Juul UK MD Dan Thomson said: “Being stocked by one of the most trusted pharmacy brands in the UK is a significant endorsement for our product and brand, and will allow us to reach a wider audience of adult smokers to help them make the switch away from cigarettes.
“Our mission is to improve the lives of millions of the UK’s seven and a half million smokers and we look forward to partnering with Boots to achieve this goal.”
