Booths Supermarkets has reshuffled its operating board and created a new retail operations directorate in the most significant structural changes to the business for the last six years.
The changes include the appointment of buying and distribution director David Benson as retail operations and distribution director. In this role, the managers of Booths’ 25 stores report directly to him.
Benson joined Booths as a trainee store manager and worked his way up. Before taking the post of buying and distribution director, he was chief buyer.
In addition, marketing and IT director Chris Dee has become
buying and IT director and marketing manager Lincoln Clarke has been promoted to marketing director.
Dee moved to Booths in 1995 as wine buyer, before becoming marketing and IT director in 1998. He has been heavily involved in working with north-west regional food producers on local sourcing initiatives.
