Greencore has appointed Nick Anderson as commercial director for its chilled meals business.
He moves from its sandwich-making facilities at Manton Wood, where he is currently business unit controller.
He will aim to ensure the smooth running of Greencore’s two chilled meals production sites at Warrington and Wisbech and will be based at Wisbech, Cambridgeshire.
The plants produce 60 million retailer-branded meals per year, specialising in Italian and traditional British ready meals.
Anderson will oversee the continued development of the factories, which are half-way through a £19.5m investment programme.
His move follows the announcement of the forthcoming departure of Anne Truelove, chief executive of Greencore Chilled Foods, and Gerry Smith, chief executive of Greencore Ambient & Frozen (The Grocer, October 2, p19). The appointment of chief operating officer Tony Hynes to lead its convenience food division was revealed at the same time.
