Low-fat and functional food launches abound after the excesses of the festive period. In Spain, Dhul has launched a functional crème caramel available in three versions. Flan de Huevo Omega-3 is made with eggs fortified with fatty acids and also contains vitamin E, while Flan de Huevo Fibra is enhanced with fibre, and vitamins A, D and E. Flan de Huevo Calcio contains calcium and vitamins A, D and E. In Belgium, Campina has launched Boisson Lactée aux Pommes under its Stassano brand, and claims it to be the first brand to use the Beneo symbol, which indicates the presence of Orafti's inulin and oligofructose ingredients in sufficient quantities for them to be of benefit to the digestive system. This apple-flavoured milk contains buttermilk and Jonagold apple juice, and is fortified with calcium, vitamin D and Orafti's prebiotic ingredient complex Raftilose Synergy 1. In Germany, Schneekoppe has launched Aktiv-Kombi, a new generation of vitamin and mineral supplements under the Huxol Vital brand. This is claimed to be the first two-phase fizzy soluble supplement with a separate bioactive mineral phase to aid uptake. The two-tone tablets use white plus a colour linked to the mineral content. There are five variants ­ a yellow and white magnesium supplement with vitamin B, a purple and white multimineral complex with ACE vitamins, a yellow and white zinc and vitamin C combination, an orange and white calcium and vitamin E complex, and a purple and white iron tablet with folic acid and vitamin B12. The convenience sector in New Zealand has seen the introduction of the new Asia@Home range by the Home Cuisine Company, a division of Meadow Lea Foods. This line of 17 different noodle, stir-fry and curry meal products is made from authentic, restaurant-quality ingredients and spices. It allows consumers to add their own meat and vegetables to create an Asian meal that is said to be of restaurant quality. In Spain, Nabisco has launched Oreo Cake, a mix for making Oreo biscuit-flavoured cake. The box contains a cake tin, a cake mix sachet, a cream mix sachet, sachet of decorations, and a doily. The addition of butter/margarine and milk is required. In the US, budding artists can try Kool-Aid Magic Twists from Kellogg, a soft drink mix for children which changes colour.
