Are you the best in the business? Have you developed a new initiative that has had a real impact on the market? Do you think your consumer activity is second to none? Then prove it by entering The Grocer Gold Awards 2006, which are sponsored by GS1, Headcount and Deloitte.
As in previous years, many of our awards are based on exclusive research for The Grocer. However, a handful of categories can be entered by multiple retailers, independents, symbol groups and wholesalers.
These include the award for best consumer initiative, which could be any customer-facing activity from store formats to ads. The best business initiative could be a supply chain project, new technology or any wholesaler scheme designed to improve retailers’ business.
There’s also an award for the best own label range development. The award is designed to recognise a family of products that have been launched or relaunched, rather than individual innovations. And it will reward strong concepts with a clear understanding of developments in the market.
Those independents who feature in The Grocer Top 50 ranking and the wholesalers who appear on our Big 30 listing are also able to enter two awards for best independent retail chain and best wholesaler.
In addition, there will be awards for the best brand and own label suppliers in the business, based on research carried out for The Grocer. And we will look for the best product development by a brand.
The awards will be presented at The Dorchester in London on June 14, where we will unveil the winners of The Grocer 33 awards, reveal the country’s favourite supermarket and name The Grocer of the Year. Go to www.thegrocergoldawards.co.uk to download entry forms.
