To coincide with Child Safety Week (June 19-25), Swedish Match announced it is repackaging its range of Bryant & May matches to include a bold, new, on pack safety warning. This year's campaign was launched on June 19 by Dr Kim Howells, Minister for Consumer Affairs, who said: "Statistics show that every year up to five people, usually young children, are killed in house fires started by children under five playing with matches. In a bid to reduce the casualties, the Department of Trade and Industry's Consumer Safety Unit has worked with UK match suppliers to introduce a new warning on matchboxes. It reads Danger! Fire Kills Children' and is accompanied by a burning figure symbol. The voluntary move by the industry will save some young lives." {{GROCER CLUB }}
