While the grocery industry is immersed in Safeway, obesity and the GM debate, the folk at Tesco's press office had something more important to discuss at their summer party in London last week: Tim Tams.
The retailer has begun stocking Australia's favourite biscuit and sales in Tesco's Cromwell Road store in the heart of London's kangaroo alley are going through the roof.
The key to this success? The Tim Tam dump, or in UK vernacular, Tim Tam dunk. Demonstrated by pop star/actress Natalie Imbruglia on Graham Norton's show last year, the dump' comprises sucking your tea or coffee up through the biscuit's chocolate centre rather than dunking it in the traditional way. The more adventurous use Port instead.
