Minster supplies tapas products to grocery retailers in the UK. "I think the growth of tapas is down to more people visiting Spanish-speaking countries and it fits in well with convenience," says Minster's Ann Burbridge.

Minster's first product was Tapas al Minuto, which went into Waitrose initially. Produced by Spanish manufacturer Espuña, it is a range of tapas dishes designed for the microwave.

The range was developed for Spanish cities, where an emerging market for convenience foods was identified," says Burbridge. "The UK is now the top export market for tapas," she adds.

Minster supplies three ranges: Al Minuto, Combinadas and Enrolladas. Morrisons, Budgens, Aldo, Makro and Booths all stock tapas under the Espuña brand.
