Her career pattern has been unusual. She moved from pressure group, co-founding the Women's Farming Union in 1979, to consultancy ­ in 1986 she was the first senior consultant at Lowe Bell Good Relations responsible for crisis management and consumer issues. She joined Safeway as director of corporate affairs and was the first woman divisional director with responsibility for corporate and public affairs. In 1996 she set up her own food/agribusiness consultancy. She classifies herself as "an entrepreneur in a corporate climate". {{COVER FEATURE }}
