Canderel maker Merisant has promoted Alan Adler, former sales director, to the role of general manager, UK & Ireland, taking over from Lynn Porteous who has been promoted to regional vice-president and managing director, international.
Prior to joining Merisant in May 2004, Adler worked for several companies within the food industry, including Lyons Bakery, Baxters of Speyside, Fitch Lovell, Taunton Cider, Gerber Foods Soft Drinks and Doughology. Most recently he was sales director for Calypso Soft Drinks.
Helen Kershaw, former senior brand manager, has also been promoted. She becomes marketing director, the role which was previously filled by Jayne McIntosh, who has now left the company.
Previously, Kershaw was group brand manager at French cheese manufacturer, Bongrain UK, as well as working with the MLC, Bosch and Prestige.
