Vittel has developed a new sports drink called Vittel + Energy following consultation with scientists and professional sportsmen and women.
Rolling out now to supermarkets, airport and station c-stores and forecourts, the orange and citrus flavour, water-based drink is said to prevent tiredness, energy loss and dehydration, and to help the body recover after strenuous exercise.
It comes in a 75cl sports bottle which, unlike many of its sports drink rivals, has a standard cap. Its signature colours are blue and orange.
The company claims the 89p newcomer's main selling point is its high natural calcium content.
It also contains B vitamins as well as a blend of complex and simple carbohydrates said to maximise performance and endurance, but is free from artificial colours, preservatives, stabilisers, artificial sweeteners and colouring agents.
