Twinings has embarked on a 250,000 household sampling drop for its teabags. The company has enlisted the services of the Leaflet Company to deliver the samples to tea lovers and "expand their repertoire of preferred brews". Using Twinings customer data, the leafleting specialist has pinpointed five major UK conurbations which contain a "high proportion" of Twinings key target market ­ females over the age of 30. The areas being targeted are Bristol, Milton Keynes, Nottingham, The Wirral and Southampton. Eight-page square leaflets emphasising Twinings' Discovering the World' theme are being posted through letter boxes. They contain two teabag samples ­ Lady Grey (a lesser known relation of the popular Early Grey) and Assam (a strong, full-flavoured tea from northern India).
