UBUK is welcoming in the New Year with a range of snacking launches as well as slashing the saturated fat content across its crisps portfolio.

New for 2007 is limited edition McCoy's Jackets, available from March. The crisps are made from potatoes cooked with their skins intact and come in three jacket potato style flavours - melted cheese & bacon, sour cream & chive and chilli beef. The McCoy's brand is also being given a packaging makeover in March and will contain 30% less fat as well as 10% less sodium.

Its McCoy's Specials is also being given a new line up, with T-bone steak with onions, sea salt & black pepper, sea salt & cider vinegar and mature cheddar & onion chutney, joining the sharing bags and hot jalapeno peppers & cheese and Cool Ranch being added to the tortillas range. The lines will be backed by a TV campaign breaking in March.

New to the company's Go Ahead! range will be its Crinkly Crisps moving into a 150g sharing format. Three flavours - sea salt & cracked black pepper, chilli & lime and sundried tomato, basil & mozzarella, will hit the shelves in January backed by a £1m door-drop promotion that will run in three instalments throughout the year, designed to reach three million households.

Go Ahead! will also be accompanied by the new slogan 'Look good, feel great' to reinforce its health credentials for the key dieting season.

Other launches in the first quarter of the year include the launch of Big Nuts under the KP brand. Available in chargrilled steak, cheddar & onion, hickory smoked BBQ, and red hot chilli flavours in 59p bags, the nuts will target male consumers.

In addition, the company is cutting the saturated fat content of Hula Hoops by 55% from February, which will be backed by a £1.5m television advertising campaign from March.
