Waitrose is launching a new meal deal for two in stores as people opt to dine in amid the cost of living crisis.
The grocer is introducing its new ‘Waitrose No.1 Dine In Meal Deal for 2’ offer in stores from this week, which will retail at £12 and include one main, one side and one dessert.
Customers will be able to choose from 11 mains, eight sides and six desserts. Waitrose confirmed this would be an ongoing meal deal.
The retailer has also introduced some new No.1 lines to feature in the meal deal, including Parmigiano Reggiano & truffle chicken kiev, tomato & mozzarella gnocchi bake, and mozzarella & basil pesto pantofola.
Waitrose commercial director Charlotte Di Cello said: “Nothing matters more to us than delicious tasting, quality food with high welfare. We’re delighted to be showcasing our very best Waitrose No.1 range with a new meal deal for two.
“Rising living costs have made eating out a luxury, so it is important that we give our customers the opportunity to enjoy restaurant quality food at an affordable price. With a main, side and dessert to choose from, our customers can enjoy a night in with no compromise”.

It hopes to bank on the decreasing numbers of families eating out amid hiking inflation, the Grocer understands.
Waitrose has recently unveiled a new brand proposition, ‘Food to Feel Good About’, doubling down on values such as quality and provenance.
The refresh followed reports of a 5% drop in year-on-year sales to £3.6bn, as well as recent Kantar data that showed shoppers were turning away from the upmarket chain in favour of cheaper rivals.
Its new £12 meal deal will be seen as a direct competitor to Marks & Spencer’s popular dine in deals. M&S currently has a Dine in For Two “gastropub” deal, which also sells for £12.
And this summer, it launched a new ongoing Family Dine In offer “providing great value all-year round” – including a £10 pizza dine in deal that feeds a family of four.
