Waitrose’s vision for 2005 has been unveiled at its third supplier conference.
Angela Megson, director of buying, said the supermarket aimed to continue to “dominate on product” and “differentiate on service”.
Tackling consumers’ perceptions of the price/value dynamic would be crucial to fulfilling these aims, she said.
Tony Solomon, supply chain director, said his plans to strengthen Waitrose’s supply chain would depend on resilience, availability, cost-effectiveness and staff involvement.
