The rapid delivery market for grocery is taking off but many retailers are still working through the challenges of this expanding channel. In our upcoming webinar, experts reveal how to unlock its full potential, address operational hurdles, and scale effectively while maintaining service quality.
The rapid delivery market for UK grocery has roughly doubled in the last two years.
According to research by Logistics app Rodeo, it’s a channel now worth more than £2bn with millions of users logging onto the likes of Just Eat, Deliveroo and Uber Eats to stock up on essentials and last-minute weekend treats.
But there remains a huge amount of growth to unlock.
If hospitality has reached maturity on the channel, grocery is only just getting started.
While there’s no shortage of activity – in October Waitrose signed on with Just Eat, the month prior The Co-op rolled out 24-hour delivery in London, Leeds and Manchester – they’re still grappling with plenty of teething problems.
On the one hand, retailers are still getting their heads around the logistics of offering a rapid service via multiple aggregator platforms at once. They’re juggling multiple picking devices, catalogues and channels. This is proving an operational headache – and fuelling mistakes.
Missing and cancelled orders, and poor product quality continue to blight customer experience as a result, according to GlobalData.
So, how can grocery retailers elevate their strategy when it comes to rapid delivery?
What tools and technologies can they make use of to drive efficiencies?
And how can they speed up expansion across aggregator platforms without delivering a subpar service?
In this Grocer Vision webinar, our expert panellists will dig into the untapped potential of rapid delivery for UK grocers – and set out how it can be realised. They’ll provide first-hand experiences of streamlining behind-the-scenes operations, and lay out step-by-step strategies for how other retailers can do the same.
Plus, you’ll get the chance to put your questions to our panel.
