Western Wines has appointed an Italian agency executive to develop its Italian range of wines which accounts for a quarter of the business.
Claire Whitehead joins from Sainsbury where she was wine marketing manager from January 2000.
"I am delighted to be joining as I will be able to put my wine knowledge, marketing experience and languages to good use," said Whitehead.
She will focus on the Italian aspects of the business and implementing Western Wines Italian strategy, working closely with producers and the sales team.
"Italy is the most exciting wine producing country in the world, and I look forward to assuming responsibility for evolving Western's portfolio," said Whitehead.
