Makro has reported significant sales hikes following a revamp of its Glasgow depot.

The wholesaler began refurbishing its 33-depot network three years ago with improved fixtures, new signage, extra lines and greater focus on fresh produce.

Since its Glasgow store received the treatment in November, fresh fish sales had increased 128% and fresh fruit and vegetable sales 37%, it said. Sales of wine were up 10% while sales in its sound and vision department were up 63%.
