Fast-growing egg supplier LJ Fairburn & Son has secured a listing with Asda stores in Shropshire for its Heal’s Free Range egg brand, and a national listing for its Fairburn’s brand with Costco.
Both brands went on sale this week across a range of SKUs and are accredited under the RSPCA Assured animal welfare scheme.
Heal’s eggs are named after Shropshire producer and Fairburn supplier partner Heal Farms, which has supplied eggs to Fairburn since 2013.
The launches are part of a strategy by Fairburn to continue building its brand portfolio as it seeks to challenge former paymaster Noble Foods.
The supplier struck out on its own in 2012 and has since grown its turnover from £12m to a projected £60m this year and secured national listings with Sainsbury’s, Asda, Aldi and Iceland.
“Since leaving Noble we’ve had a lot of support from retailers and we are very please to get this brand into Asda,” said director Sarah Louise Fairburn.
“Both the Fairburn and Heal families take great effort to produce and pack eggs to the very highest welfare and quality standard,” said Asda buying manager Terri Saunders.
