Aldi is changing the name of its Disco Biscuits snacks after learning it’s slang for the drug ecstasy. The switch is long overdue: street-savvy wags on the interwebs have been laughing about the loss in translation for at least two years.
“You do not expect to see a big store like Aldi selling something called Disco Biscuits,” shocked Liverpool shopper Dave Barnes told The Sun. Although in Liverpool, maybe you should.
Anyway, no-one uses the word Disco these days. They should call their biscuits Club.
