Ad of the Week: Barry Scott is gone as Cillit Bang's dancer delights

“Hi, I’m Barry Scott!” Barry’s powerfully wooden performances as shoutsman for Cillit Bang are the stuff of ad legend.

But now the brand has turned to a more flexible ambassador. Dancer Daniel ‘Cloud’ Campos plays a mechanic tasked with cleaning up his workshop. Like an OCD Gene Kelly, he leaps and twirls the place to perfection - aided by some clever clothwork, a Flashdance soundtrack and a cupboardful of CB.

The dancing is magnificent, with some brilliant stunts mixed in with imaginative use of Campos’ skills - not forgetting plenty of emphasis on the power of the product. It all ends with a smart punchline and a witty ‘Almost Makes Cleaning Exciting’ strapline. A deliciously camp delight.
