Heinz’s new ad is almost a great idea. You know how, when emptying your can into a saucepan, you have to give it a bit of a whack in order to completely divest the vessel of every last bean?
Heinz has taken this a step further, compelling its cast of Adland archetypes to tap out a Stomp-style rhythm on the tins.
The Can Song, which Heinz tiresomely insists on referring to as #CanSong, is a cockle-warming take on ‘Cups’ from the 2012 film Pitch Perfect.
Most of this tin-tapping is evidently done pre-rinse, and would undoubtedly result in goblets of bean juice (sorry, tomato sauce) splattering the clothes of all involved. Which, to be honest, would make a more engaging ad.
