Most adverts featuring Formula 1 stars focus on the sport’s elite performance requirements, whether technological or athletic. So it’s rather a surprise to see Lewis Hamilton popping up – alongside his dog Roscoe – in this rather goofy online spot for speedy delivery service Zapp.
Oddly, there’s no reference to speedy deliveries, despite Hamilton being a seven-time world champion. Instead we see him in a video call with his hound, who is rather excited to learn his master is to return home early. Roscoe ignores instructions not to make a fuss, putting up decorations and using a certain app to order in a range of (very healthy looking) party food.
There’s some knowing funny business with Roscoe’s glasses and a fake paw, and the man-and-his-dog bond is adorably wholesome. But Zapp scores the most points for making non-obvious choices.
