Health food retailer Julian Graves has collapsed into administration.
Julian Graves is owned by NBTY Europe, which also owns Holland & Barrett. It is understood that Holland & Barrett was unaffected by the problems at Julian Graves, which has come under pressure from lower consumer spending and higher commodity costs.
Julian Graves has 189 shops nationwide and employs 363 people full-time. It will continue trading and employees will continue to be paid as normal for the time being.
Deloitte was appointed as administrator to the retailer. According to accounts posted with Companies House, Julian Graves recorded pre-tax profits of £2.5m for the year to 30 September.
