M&S tenderness

Marks & Spencer is set to launch a new range of fresh beef this summer, called Guaranteed Tender British Beef. It will appear on sirloin, ribeye and fillet steaks and is claimed to represent maximum tenderness in the meat, which is achieved through a strict regime of husbandry and processing. Technologist Rob Cumine said: "The innovation begins at the farm."

Green barbecue

Asda has completed an eco-friendly summer barbecue range. Alongside its existing range of organic and British burgers, sausages and kebabs, the multiple, has introduced an environmentally sustainable charcoal on which to cook them, which is produced by BioRegional from British woodland.
