Cranswick has announced a tie-in with Spanish pork supplier Costa Foods to provide a “quality range” of charcuterie to the UK.
The major meat processor’s Continental Foods arm will import produce from the Spanish producer, which runs 600 farms in the country.
“The UK market is increasingly demanding transparency of continental supply chains and through working with Costa we have a unique proposition that provides a fully integrated solution,” said sales director at Cranswick Continental Foods, Norman Smith.
“Combine this with our new site in Bury and we believe we have a market leading farm to fork solution from both a traceability and an efficiency point of view.”
It comes 18 months after Cranswick began production at a new £28m continental foods plant in Bury, Greater Manchester.
