Charlie Leet-Cook
Co-founder, Moju cold pressed juices, on Sisqó, perfect waves and being a honey badger
What was your first-ever job? General labourer for my grandparents around their home and garden.
What’s been your worst job interview? My first job after university was the most gruelling, it was a big corporate company and involved four different rounds.
What was the first music single you bought? This is embarrassing! Sisqó - Unleash the Dragon.
How do you describe your job to your mates? Varied! I seem to get a lot done each day; I just can’t remember all of it.
What’s the most rewarding part of your job? To date it has been making our first delivery and seeing the bottles on-shelf.
What’s the least rewarding part? In our first seven months we had three days off and were doing back-to-back 18-hour days. My social life disappeared.
What’s your motto in life? Enjoy it! The best times in life are when you are having fun, so make sure you have as much of it as possible.
What’s your nickname? Leety. Not very original.
If you were allowed one dream perk what would it be? A beach near the office with perfect waves. Sun and warm water would be a bonus.
What’s your favourite movie? The Endless Summer. It’s a 1966 surf film and was pioneering for its time. It’s about two mates chasing the sun around the world and searching for perfect waves.
What’s been the most embarrassing moment in your life? It was at school… that’s as much as I’m willing to divulge.
Any phobias? Needles. I hate the things!
If you could pick a celebrity to join your staff who would it be and why? Sir Ranulph Fiennes. He’s raised more money for charity than any other celeb and definitely wouldn’t be short on inspiration and a story or two.
If you could change one thing in grocery what would it be? The ‘hoodwinking’ as we call it at Moju HQ: brands misleading consumers through their labelling.
What luxury would you have on your desert island? A straw. If drinking water from a coconut through a straw isn’t a luxury, I don’t know what is.
What animal best reflects your personality? The honey badger - tenacious and never gives up. They are also pretty bad at housework.
