What was your first job? I worked in a sweet shop when I was 16 and was paid 20p an hour. It was slave labour! My boss was a bully but I got my own back by eating as many high-value sweets as possible.

What’s been your worst job interview? Junior typist to a manufacturer in Chiswick. I was late and all I could think of was to say my dental appointment had overrun - I then went on to describe the imaginary appointment. I remember some very bemused faces.

What was your first music single? My brothers bought it for my seventh birthday - ‘Help’ by The Beatles.

How do you describe your job to your mates? ‘Ever thought about what happens to coupons once they’ve been redeemed?’ I usually get a lot of ‘OMG no!’ type responses. It can be a conversation opener and killer.

What’s the most rewarding part of your job?Achieving goals - I am a sucker for targets. As part of that, I love developing new ideas and making things happen.

What’s the least rewarding part? Running out of time. I hate it when I get to the end of the day and have not managed to accomplish everything I set out to achieve.

What’s your motto? Keep smiling. A happy face works wonders in making you feel more positive in difficult situations.

If you were allowed one dream perk what would it be? A cabin cruiser fully staffed with fit men.

What’s your favourite movie and why? The Sound of Music - I remember when it was released and still enjoy it!

What’s been the most embarrassing moment in your life? Finding myself naked on the wrong side of my hotel room door. The night security man had to rescue me…

Any phobias? Big black spiders - I hate them.

If you could pick a celebrity to join your staff who would it be and why? Ray Winstone - he is my kind of eye candy.

If you could change one thing in grocery what would it be? All retailers to upgrade their point of sales at once to better validate coupons.

What luxury would you have on your desert island?An endless supply of chilled Veuve Clicquot Champagne.

What animal best reflects your personality? A tigress - she tends to get what she wants and is fairly straightforward.
