Iceland has boosted its exclusive Slimming World range with two new frozen ready meals.
The additions, Chicken and Chorizo-style Sausage Paella and Chicken Chow Mein, priced at £3 for 550g, were launched today.
Iceland, which manufactures the products with advice from Slimming World, is marking the arrival of the new products with a special offer on the first anniversary of the launch of the 27-strong range. Shoppers who buy any two ready meals or meat products from the line will get a free fresh vegetable pack until 12 April.
Iceland will feature different vegetables in the deal throughout the promotional period.
From today until 4 March, shoppers can choose between fine green beans (220g) and butternut squash (500g-800g); from 5-18 March cauliflower/broccoli florets pack (400g) or leeks (650g); from 19 March-1 April, courgettes (2-pack) or vine tomatoes (230g); and from 2-12 April, mangetout and baby corn (180g) or diced vegetables (600g).
The Slimming World range is based around Slimming World’s Food Optimising eating plan, which empowers members “to make healthier food choices, satisfy their appetites and lose weight without calorie-counting or obsessive weighing and measuring”.
“Cooking from scratch at home with healthy ingredients will always remain at the heart of Slimming World’s Food Optimising eating plan,” said Slimming World marketing manager Allison Brentnall.
“What we’ve developed with Iceland is a back-up plan for those times when people are too busy to cook. Our members call these meals ‘lifesavers’.”
The full Slimming World range now includes 17 ready meals, four meat products, four soups and two sauces. Ready meals and meat products are priced £3, and the sauces and soups are £1.50.
