Miso Tasty has moved into cooking sauces with a trio of Japanese flavours.
Its new sauces – Teriyaki, Miso and Yuzu – have launched into Waitrose in 100g squeezy tubes (rsp: £2.30).
The brand is touting their versatility: the sauces, which are all vegan and gluten-free, can be used as marinades, blended with olive oil to make salad dressing, used as a glaze and swirled into noodles in a stir-fry.
“Miso Tasty pride themselves on sourcing the best ingredients for their products and this new range is no exception,” said the brand.
It comes as Miso Tasty smashed a Seedrs funding push in April despite the coronavirus crisis, raking in £384k for 12.46% of its equity. It had initially sought to raise £350k.
The brand’s founder Bonnie Chung said at the time she had been advised to pull the campaign in light of coronavirus, but had opted to keep going so as not to forfeit any investment.
As well as growing its product range, funds from the push would be used to drive brand awareness and grow its headcount, said Miso Tasty.
