Spar has become the latest retailer to launch a range of own-label fruit and nut snack mixes which echo branded supplier Graze.
The symbol group has introduced four savoury and eight sweet fruit, nut and flapjack single-serve snack boxes.
Flavour combinations include cocoa & vanilla flapjack; lemon drizzle flapjack; chocolate, coffee & walnut mix; Thai sriracha mix; and chilli & lime protein mix. At least seven of Spar’s mixes also feature in the Graze range. Discounter Aldi sells similar products under the Natural Selection brand.
Spar’s Snacking Fruit & Nut Mixes start from 75p, with Graze’s range retailing at around £1.20 for a 35g box.
“We have seen the massive growth in the healthy snacking fruit and nut mix market and have launched our own exciting new range of indulgent but healthy treats for consumers,” said head of fresh trading and Spar brand David Armstrong.
“Having only launched in Spar stores two weeks ago, sales are already far exceeding expectations.”
A Graze spokesman said: “Graze aims to lead the way by constantly innovating and creating unique products that are healthier, tastier and better quality than our competitors. As the UK’s number one healthy snacking brand we have to expect imitators, but we are confident the quality of our products and service will always set us apart.”
