A fresh wave of adverts to encourage consumers to cut salt consumption begins next week, ahead of a new campaign for 2007.
The Food Standards Agency is to run 10-second versions of last year's ads, in which food packets urge consumers to check labels for salt content and keep consumption down to 6g a day. The first execution will air from Monday during Coronation Street and ads will run until 18 October.
The FSA is currently working on a new campaign that will air next spring. It will be the third phase of its salt awareness drive - the first ads in 2004 featured a character called Sid the Slug.
