United Co-operatives’ Food Group has promoted Peter Hosey to the new role of head of business acquisitions.
After spending £50m since April, the co-op has an additional £50m earmarked for acquisitions this year.
As well as spending this money on c-stores, Hosey will work closely with the Co-op’s Petrol Filling Stations Group to identify targets.
Hosey has worked for United Co-operatives for the past four years as an acquisitions manager and was recently involved in the acquisition of the 12 Cheers Shropshire stores that traded under the Neighbours fascia.
Geoffrey Dyson, general manager - portfolio development, said: “Head of business acquisitions is a huge job. Peter has a wealth of experience and knowledge of the trading area and he will play a significant part in the United Co-op’s ambitious acquisition programme.”
