Recently-launched alkaline ionised water brand Actiph has signed up to sponsor the London and Edinburgh MoonWalks.
The brand will supply 80,000 bottles to walkers and volunteers at the events, which are run by breast cancer charity Walk the Walk and take place on 12 May and 9 June respectively.
It would be “the largest single sampling exercise” for Actiph and would “deliver the key messages of healthy living through eating and drinking well and exercise”, said the brand.
It was “inspiring to work with a company that shares similar health and ethical values”, said Walk the Walk chief executive Nina Barough.
Actiph hit shelves in October, billing itself as the UK’s first alkaline ionised water. In the US, it is a category in its own right, sales for which grew some 70% to $156m last year [Nielsen 52 w/e 26 August 2017].
Founder and CEO Jamie Douglas-Hamilton previously told The Grocer he wanted to “take market share from coconut water, health, sports and energy drinks”.
