Aldi has launched a roast-in-bag RSPCA-assured free-range chicken - which it claims is 30% cheaper than its rivals.
The 100% British chicken hit shelves last week under Aldi’s Specially Selected range, and is available in limited UK stores as part of an initial trial (rsp: £3.29/kg).
Aldi, which already sells over 25,000 British free-range RSPCA-assured chickens per week, said the new ready-to-cook SKU guaranteed “animal welfare, less mess and food safety at no extra cost to customers.”
The discounter claimed it was one of “only a few retailers” to offer high-welfare RSPCA-assured free-range chicken in a roast-in-bag format.
