the Partnership
Carolyn Andrews has become operations director for the BP & Safeway Partnership, responsible for the successful running of its growing portfolio of new concept stores.
Andrews will oversee the partnership's supply chain, operations and marketing teams. The asset team, which looks after site development, health and safety, and the personnel team also fall under her jurisdiction. She said: "The performance of partnership stores has been very strong in the last year and during Christmas week we saw like-for-like sales rise 9%."
Andrews' move follows the opening of the 55th new-look store in Cranfield, near Basildon in Essex. The outlets combine BP's latest image and cleaner fuels, including autogas, with Safeway's focus on fresh. The format also includes a take-home hot food offer.
Andrews was previously responsible for district management at BP Retail. She replaces Richard Harding, who has returned to BP to form part of a project management team.
