Artah Nutrition claims its products are made using ‘clinically proven, bioavailable actives with targeted dosages to achieve maximum results’

Artah Nutrition has raised almost £3m to accelerate growth and drive new product development at the supplements startup.

Rhian Stephenson founded the business in 2021, with the goal of helping customers feel and live better through clinical-grade food supplements and nutrition programmes.

Artah has since expanded from a small portfolio of specialist products to a complete supplements collection, available DTC and at select retail partners, including Selfridges and Whole Foods Market.

With this round of growth capital, the business plans to expand into new channels and launch in the EU next year.

“Our bodies have an amazing ability to thrive, but, in today’s food environment, this is becoming increasingly difficult,” Stephenson said. “With the drastically reduced nutrient content of food, the effects of food processing, environmental changes and the physiological demands of our modern lifestyle, there are big nutrient gaps and we simply aren’t getting what we need.

“Only 12% of the population are metabolically healthy, so functional foods and high-quality supplements are essential tools for the maintenance and optimisation of health.”

Paris-based Five Seasons Ventures, which specialises in consumer brands, led the £2.9m round, with participation from investment firm Active Partners and a consortium of consumer-focused angel investors.

Five Seasons founding partner Niccolò Manzoni added: “Artah is a first mover in the metabolic health category and has the knowledge and vision to become the category leader in the space.

“They operate in a unique area of the high-growth supplements market by meeting consoumer demand in digestive health, metabolic health, cellular health and longevity, and pulling it all together with nutrition.”

Courtney Sawatzke, early stage investor at Active Partners, said: “Today’s consumers face an overwhelming amount of choice and conflicting information when it comes to their overall health. Rhian is building an exceptional lifestyle brand that cuts through the noise, delivering science-backed, efficacious products and actionable nutrition advice.

“The impressive growth of Artah to date is testament to Rhian’s deep expertise in nutrition and naturopathy, as well as her clear understanding of her customers. We’re excited to partner with her to expand this unique offering to more consumers in the UK and beyond.”

Artah’s range of supplements focus on energy, metabolism, digestive health, and cognitive function, with the company claiming its products are made using “clinically proven, bioavailable actives with targeted dosages to achieve maximum results”.
