Asda has been forced to close its Brighton Marina store indefinitely after the building was partly demolished by a 4,000 tonne landslide. "The extent of the damage has yet to be confirmed and it's therefore much too early to say when the store will re-open, said a spokeswoman. The damaged store has sales space of 38,676 sq ft compared to the 46,840 sq ft at Asda's Brighton Hollingbury store, which has been geared up to deal with the extra customers expected to shop there. The landslide, which happened on Monday morning and hit the rear of the store, was caused by heavy rain loosening chalk in the clifftops. {{NEWS }}
