Asda has become the latest supermarket to offer customers a new back to basics mobile phone.
The emporia RL1, from Vodafone, features extra large buttons, stripped down menus and loud ring tones aimed at the older generation.
It also includes a charging cradle that can sit on a desk or be wall mounted to stop them losing the phone.
The phone will be available in 280 Asda stores throughout the country and Maggie Robinson, UK & Ireland Country Manager for emporia, said: “The handset addresses an important market segment: those who want their mobile to be first and foremost a phone – for talking and texting. Nothing more, nothing less. We are seeing a real demand for less complicated phones.”
The RL1 has a recommended retail price of £75 on pay-as-you-go.
