Asda is planning a new own-label range called Calorie Counted - set to launch in the spring.
The retailer said the range would be available from April, after it was registered as a trademark with the IPO under classifications covering a wide range of food and drink. Asda would not say if Calorie Counted was intended to replace its Good & Counted calorie-control lineup launched in 2014, or its similar but pricier Slimzone range.
Last summer, Slimzone relaunched months after being withdrawn during a legal row with Slimming World - which had objected to Asda linking the products to the organisation without permission. The matter was settled out of court.
