Icefresh Foods has appointed Lee Baker from Iceland Foods to take up the new role of purchasing manager, with responsibility for all procurement and the creation of a new buying strategy.
He will be working with the company’s business development managers on the three key product areas, desserts, ice cream and vegetables, that the company sells to retailers and suppliers.
Baker started his career at United Norwest Co-op and then, after passing a postgraduate degree in procurement and logistics in 1997, moved to Iceland Foods. Here he was responsible for buying savoury pastry, desserts and vegetarian food, with a combined annual spend of £80m.
