Free-from brand Bay’s Kitchen has secured six-figure funding to support its retail expansion strategy.
The Cheltenham-based business, known for its range of sauces, soups, stocks, gravies and condiments, aims to boost its presence in UK grocery stores and expand internationally.
Founder Bay Burdett created Bay’s Kitchen in response to the lack of convenient low-FODMAP food options for IBS sufferers.
The company has focused mainly on DTC but is available on Ocado and Amazon, as well as exporting to the likes of the UAE and Australia.
Bay’s Kitchen is also using the £350k investment from angel investors to fund a rebrand, expand its team, raise brand awareness via digital marketing and develop new products beyond the sauces and condiments category over the next 12 months.
“With this new investment, we plan to rebrand, extend our range and increase our brand presence,” Burdett said. “We’re excited to expand into more UK grocery stores and become a true player in international markets. Our goal is to continue offering convenient, gut-friendly foods that make life easier for those living with IBS.”
Bay’s Kitchen currently offers 23 products, all certified low-FODMAP, gluten-free and dairy-free, with the majority also vegan.
