Booker’s like-for-like sales rose by 2.5% in the 16 weeks to 2 January.
Tobacco like-for-likes rose 2.4% and non-tobacco like-for-likes by 2.6%. Total sales, including Makro, rose 1.4%, with tobacco sales up 2.2% and non-tobacco sales up 1%.
CEO Charles Wilson said its C&C division Booker Wholesale had had a “good” quarter, with customer numbers up. It has now converted nine Makro depots to its Makro/Booker format.
